Menu Dropdown Excel. A drop down list is actually a tiny window from where you can peek into some other data you have constructed. It can be one cell a range of cells or few cells which located apart from each other.
For example if you want your drop down list to include new york boston and los angeles you can type new york in cell a1 boston in cell a2 and los. Make sure to enter each drop down entry in a separate consecutive cell in the same column. In the spreadsheet select the cell to contain the drop down list.
Step 1 open the excel spreadsheet file you want to edit.
Separate each value you enter with a comma. In the data validation window click the allow drop down list and select the list option. Select list from the allow drop down menu. In the excel ribbon click the data tab.
